Witch Lit

I have defined my genre as Witch Lit - Sizzle & Spice and some things Not so Nice. I am not a fan of being lumped into the paranormal genre because I really don't like the way witches are portrayed and sometimes even mocked, especially in some "paranormal romances". I find it offensive because I would never dare to try to write a book representing "Christian" beliefs and make fun of those of that faith. I do believe that witches should be granted the same courtesy. I sincerely hope that my readers understand that I aspire to write with an authentic "Pagan" voice. It might be a mismatch of belief systems, but that is what I believe. There is no right or wrong spiritual path. One's religion is a personal matter and everyone has the right to their own beliefs.

Please don't think I'm trying to sway anyone's spiritual belief system with my writing. Your religious preferences are yours and no one has the right to tell you that your beliefs are either right or wrong.

I most definitely believe in a higher power in which I address as Mother, Father, and Spirit. I have a Spiritual Family at New Life Spiritual Center in Mt. Juliet, TN. We gather every Sunday evening for fellowship, a spiritual message, songs, blessings, meditation, and sometimes Rev. Krista gives us special messages from the other side.

There is a spiritual realm where we can communicate with those that have passed. I believe this because I have experienced it firsthand. Our loved ones never really leave us, they are always there for us.

Yes, you can be a practicing witch and still believe in God. Magick is only a manifestation of energy. Any one can raise their energy vibration and work magick into their lives. I am a big believer in Karma. That is why I always try to treat people the way I would want to be treated in return.

No, witches do not worship Satan. It would be kind of hard to worship something that we don't even believe to exist.

We all have Spirit Guides. Some might call it that little voice inside your head. My guide has a big loud voice and is very real and very opinionated. That would be Odessa. Spirit Guides have lived before and ascending to a higher level. Sometimes I wonder how Dess got her promotion, but I love her all the same. Your guides, yes, you can have more than one, have some type of past life connection to you.Odessa and I have quite a history. I guess that is why we are so connected and in sync.
